Capacities
Capacities of nitrogen and phosphate containing fertilizers refer to "secondary products" as defined in the efma statistics "World Capacity".

Production
Production for EU 27 and Norway and Switzerland as reported by EFMA members to AC Fiduciaire.

Consumption
Consumption figures are based on the reports made by the Agro-Economic task force (consumption per crop) and the Information Services Committee (consumption per product) of efma. The figures for the years 1972/73 - 1988/89 are taken from the EFMA Zurich database.

Consumption figures refer to "secondary products", but include ammonia used for direct application. The consumption of bulk blends does not appear as such but as the consumption of their components (except for UK as of 1998/99).

Trade
Trade figures for the EU 27 are based on the Eurostat statistics. World trade figures are based on EFMA's market research.

Agricultural data are based on the reports made by the Agro-Economic task force of efma.
