Position vacancy - DIRECTOR of Technology, Environment and Safety

Fertilizers Europe (European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association) is recruiting a DIRECTOR of Technology, Environment and Safety

48% of the current global population is fed thanks to the use of mineral fertilizers.

Fertilizers Europe represents the interests of the fertilizer industry vis-à-vis the European institutions and other international organisations. We deal with questions related to agriculture, environment, technology, safety and trade, as well as supporting our members with statistics and other information. Our offices are located in Brussels and we have a multi-cultural team of 11 staff members.

The Director Technology, Environment and Safety, deals with a broad range of technological, environmental and safety aspects of fertilizer production, transport and storage. He/she would be responsible for joint member projects, surveys and advocating the position of the fertilizer industry vis-à-vis EU legislation.

The ideal candidate has a technical background (e.g. Chemical Engineer) with several years of work experience, preferably in the fertilizer industry. A reflective and rigorous individual, the ideal candidate should be able to handle both technical and political aspects of a dossier. Some Seniority is required due to the high level interactions with the EU institutions in Brussels. Very good command of spoken and written English is essential.

The candidate should be ready to perform the job in the Offices of Fertilizers Europe in Brussels. Good communication skills are needed as well as the ability to work in a team and have a horizontal view over matters of importance for the fertilizer industry. High personal integrity is a must due to the confidential nature of many of the issues.
